In 2013, the poem San Juan Capistrano was enacted in Blessing of our Beginnings Celebrating 10,000 Years of San Antonio, a choral production developed by Dr. Carmen Tafolla, San Antonio's first Poet Laureate at San Pedro Springs Park.

A native Texan, Ms. Patiño’s passion for poetry and prose includes an interest in photography. The beauty in nature inspired her to design Scripture-based greeting cards. A spiritual pilgrimage to Israel inspired a desert landscape theme. ‘Nature’s Grace’ theme reveals gardening as a source of joy and healing.

Ms. Patiño’s spiritual pilgrimages to the Holy Land in Israel, Portugal, Spain, and missionary experiences in Mexico and Honduras impact her reflections and her work. She facilitates ‘Writing with Angels’, a faith-based writing group at St. Brigid Catholic Church, her parish community, in San Antonio, Texas.

In Moments of Grace: a Collection of Poetry Inspired by Faith the author reflects on the passages of life’s journey through prayer, poetry, and journaling with Sacred Scripture.

Her poems and stories about family and life’s memories have been published in Story Circle Network Journal and other venues. She recorded for ‘Texas Matters’ on Texas Public Radio (TPR.org) for National Day of Listening. Her poem, ‘San Juan Capistrano’, was enacted at a special celebration coordinated by San Antonio’s First Poet Laureate, Dr. Carmen Tafolla.

Ms. Patiño holds a Masters in Theological Studies from Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas.
